Common Reasons to Visit Our Walk-In Clinic

  • Fever – possible malaria, typhoid, flu, or other infection. We test and treat same day.
  • Cough, cold, sore throat – upper respiratory infections, bronchitis, strep throat. We prescribe when needed.
  • Diarrhoea and vomiting – we assess for dehydration, provide oral rehydration, and prescribe antidiarrhoeals or antibiotics if bacterial.
  • Headache and body aches – we check for malaria, high blood pressure, tension, or migraine. We treat accordingly.
  • Ear pain and eye redness – ear infections, conjunctivitis (pink eye). We examine and prescribe drops or oral antibiotics.
  • Skin rashes, itching, or fungal infections – we diagnose and prescribe creams or oral antifungal/antibiotic.
  • Urinary burning or frequency – we test urine and treat urinary tract infections.
  • Minor injuries – cuts, scrapes, bruises, small burns, sprains. We clean wounds, suture if needed, and give tetanus vaccine if indicated.
  • Back pain or joint pain – we examine, rule out fracture (X-ray on site), and prescribe pain relief or refer to orthopaedics.
  • Pregnancy testing and early prenatal care – walk in for urine pregnancy test and first antenatal visit.
  • STI screening – confidential testing for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B, gonorrhoea, chlamydia. Treatment provided on site.
  • Blood pressure check – especially for those with no regular doctor. We screen for hypertension.
  • Blood sugar check – for diabetes screening or monitoring.
  • Routine vaccinations – tetanus, typhoid, COVID-19, flu, HPV (for girls), hepatitis B. Walk in during clinic hours.

What to Expect at Our Walk-In Clinic

  1. Arrive at Michoes Medical Centre – Kanyum, near Kumi Main Market, off Kumi–Soroti Highway.
  2. Register at reception – provide your name, age, and reason for visit. No ID required, but helpful for records.
  3. Wait briefly – we sort by urgency. If you have a high fever, difficulty breathing, or severe pain, you will be seen faster.
  4. See a clinician – one of our doctors, clinical officers, or nurses will take your history and examine you.
  5. Undergo tests if needed – we collect blood, urine, or swabs on site. Results typically within 15-60 minutes.
  6. Diagnosis and treatment plan – we explain what is wrong, prescribe medications (filled at our pharmacy), and give home care instructions.
  7. Pay at the cashier – we accept cash, mobile money (Airtel Money, MTN MoMo), and selected insurance. You pay after receiving care.
  8. Collect medications from pharmacy – Jonathan A. or a technician will counsel you on how to take them.

  • Wound suturing (small): 30,000-50,000
  • Intramuscular injection (e.g., antibiotics, painkiller): 10,000 injection fee plus medication cost
  • Nebulisation (for asthma/wheezing): 15,000 per session
  • Tetanus vaccine: 20,000

  • Severe allergic reaction (swelling of face/tongue, difficulty breathing)
  • Severe abdominal pain with vomiting or inability to pass stool

  • Major trauma (road accident, fall from height, assault with weapon)
