What we offer:
- Digital X-ray: Chest, abdomen, spine, extremities (arms, legs, hands, feet), pelvis, skull.
- Ultrasound: Abdominal, pelvic (obstetric and gynaecological), soft tissue, basic cardiac (ECHO – limited).
- Basic CT scan: Head CT (for trauma and stroke). More complex CT (chest, abdomen, pelvis) referred to Mbale or Kampala.
Who reads the images: Our clinical team reviews X-rays and ultrasounds. Complex cases are reviewed by visiting radiologists or referred externally.
Preparation for ultrasound:
- Abdominal ultrasound: Fast for 6 hours (no food, no drink)
- Pelvic ultrasound: Drink 1 litre of water 1 hour before and do not empty bladder
- Obstetric ultrasound (pregnancy): No preparation needed after first trimester
Turnaround: X-ray results within 1 hour. Ultrasound results immediately after scan.
